Refunds and withdrawal

This page explains when the price of a course is refunded and how to withdraw from a purchase. The full rules are in the Terms of sale, sections 11, 12 and 17.

1. Withdrawal within 14 days, if access has not begun

If you have bought a course and have not yet accessed its content, you may withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days from the date of the order, without giving any reason, and CESGEN refunds the full amount. The law gives this right to consumers; CESGEN also offers it, on the same terms, to businesses and professionals.

2. When you can no longer withdraw

Before paying, you are asked to request expressly that access to the courses begin immediately and to acknowledge that, as a result, you lose the right of withdrawal for each course as soon as you access its content (Article 103(m) of the consolidated text of the Spanish General Law for the Protection of Consumers and Users). The order confirmation email records that consent.

Therefore, once you have accessed the content of a course, you can no longer withdraw from it and its price is not refunded, except in the cases in sections 6 and 7. You are considered to have accessed a course when you first open any of its lessons, videos, quizzes or materials.

If the order included several courses, you may withdraw from those you have not yet started.

3. How to withdraw

You can give notice of withdrawal within the period by any of these means.

a) Online, from this page. Click “Withdraw from contract here”, fill in the form (full name, the email address you used for the purchase, the order number and date and, if you are not withdrawing from all the courses in the order, which ones) and click “Confirm withdrawal”. You will immediately receive an acknowledgement of receipt by email, with the content of your request and the date and time we received it. You do not need to sign in.

b) By email, to contacto@cesgen.com.

c) By post, to Centro de Estudios en Genómica y Nutrición SLU, Parque Científico y Tecnológico Agroalimentario de Lleida, Turó de Gardeny, 25003 Lleida (Spain).

For b) and c) you may use the model form in section 8, but it is not compulsory: a clear statement of your decision to withdraw is enough. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient to send your notice before the 14 days have ended.

4. Refund

Where withdrawal applies, CESGEN refunds the amount paid, taxes included, without undue delay and in any event within 14 calendar days of receiving the notice, using the same means of payment as the purchase, unless you expressly agree otherwise, and at no cost to you. When the withdrawal is processed, access to the course is closed and the corresponding corrective invoice is issued.

5. If withdrawal does not apply

If access to the course had already begun, or the 14-day period has ended, CESGEN will tell you so in writing, with the reason, in reply to your request.

6. Problems with a course

If a course does not work properly or does not match its description on the course page, you can tell us by any of the means in section 3 or through the contact form. CESGEN will fix it and, if that is not possible within a reasonable time, will offer a price reduction or termination of the contract with the corresponding refund, under the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.

7. If we withdraw a course

If CESGEN withdraws a paid course before a learner’s 120-day access period ends, it will offer an equivalent course or a refund proportional to the access time remaining.
