2. Purpose of the website
The campus is CESGEN’s online learning platform. It offers free and paid courses on nutrigenomics, personalised nutrition, data science applied to health, and genomics and artificial intelligence. The courses in Spanish and the courses in English are separate courses: enrolling in one does not give access to the other.
Course purchases are governed by the Terms of sale. The processing of personal data is governed by the Privacy policy and the use of cookies by the Cookie policy.
3. Terms of use
Access to the public pages of the campus is open and free of charge, apart from the cost of the internet connection. Browsing the campus means accepting this legal notice in the version published at that time.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on the campus and to enrol in its courses, including free courses.
Users undertake to use the campus lawfully, in good faith and in accordance with this legal notice. In particular, it is not permitted to:
- introduce programs, viruses or code that could damage the campus or other people’s devices;
- attempt to access accounts, restricted areas or systems of CESGEN or of third parties without authorisation;
- extract content in bulk or by automated means, or circumvent the technical measures that protect the courses;
- post unlawful, offensive or promotional content, or content that infringes the rights of others, in the participation areas (course discussions, messages or reviews).
CESGEN may remove content posted by users who break these rules and, in serious or repeated cases, suspend the account.
4. Educational nature of the content
The content of the campus is for educational and information purposes only. It does not constitute medical, dietary or genetic advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it does not replace consultation with a doctor, a registered dietitian or individual genetic counselling from a professional who knows each person’s situation.
The courses and their certificates do not qualify anyone to practise any health profession and do not replace the training and qualification requirements laid down by the rules governing the health professions.
The campus does not ask users for genetic or health data. Please do not send such data through the forms, the course discussions or messages.
5. Content generated or edited with artificial intelligence
Some elements of the campus, such as course covers, have been generated or edited with artificial intelligence tools. If a video shows a digital avatar of the instructor, this will be stated next to it. The academic content of the courses is written and reviewed by the instructor.
6. Intellectual and industrial property
The texts, videos, images, course materials, quizzes, design, logos and code of the campus belong to CESGEN or are used under licence from their owners, and are protected by intellectual and industrial property law. The CESGEN brand and logo may not be used without permission.
Course materials are made available to enrolled students solely for their personal, non-commercial and non-transferable use during the access period. They may not be reproduced, distributed, publicly communicated, transformed or resold without CESGEN’s prior written permission, except where the law allows it.
7. Links to other websites
The campus may contain links to third-party websites, such as other CESGEN websites, social media profiles or scientific sources. CESGEN does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content or their privacy policies. If CESGEN becomes actually aware that a linked site is unlawful, it will remove the link.
8. Liability
CESGEN endeavours to keep the content accurate and up to date, but cannot guarantee that it is free of errors or that the campus will be available without interruption, as it may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond CESGEN’s control. To the extent permitted by law, CESGEN is not responsible for decisions that users make based solely on the content of the campus (see section 4).
Nothing in this notice limits the rights that the consumer protection law applicable to them gives to those who buy a course.
9. Data protection and cookies
Information on the processing of personal data is in the Privacy policy and information on cookies is in the Cookie policy.
10. Applicable law and jurisdiction
This legal notice is governed by Spanish law. Users who are consumers may bring proceedings before the courts of their place of residence. In all other cases, the parties submit to the courts of Lleida (Spain).
